Mentric AI answer visibility, measured

Know what AI tells your buyers.

Your customers ask ChatGPT and Google which tool to buy. We put those exact questions to those exact surfaces, every day, and track who gets named, where they rank, and which sources the answer trusts.

Live: who AI recommends in this category

Our own category, measured with our own tool. Nothing here is illustrative — it is the last 7 days of real answers.

25 questions × 2 engines, 50 answers, updated daily. Last run 2026-08-05.
Brand Visibility Avg. rank Citation share
Profound 58.0% 1.6 1.5%
Otterly.AI 52.0% 2.1 0.7%
Peec AI 36.0% 2.5 0.2%
Scrunch AI 26.0% 2.9 0.0%
Athena 18.0% 2.7 0.3%
Mentric (us) 0.0% 0.0%

Visibility is the share of answers naming a brand at all. Average rank is where it appears among the brands named. Citation share is that brand's slice of every source the answers linked to.

This tool's own maker barely appears in these answers yet. That is rather the point — you can only fix what you can measure.

How it works

  1. Your buyers' questions. The things people actually type before they buy what you sell — roughly 25 questions to start, yours to edit.
  2. Asked where they ask them. We collect the answers a real person sees on ChatGPT and Google's AI mode, not a model's recollection of them.
  3. Read, not guessed at. Every answer is scanned for your brand and your competitors': named or not, how early, and which sites the answer cited.
  4. Tracked, daily. The same questions, the same engines, every day, so movement means something.

Where the numbers come from

These engines are not deterministic. Ask the same question twice and you get two different answers. Any tool claiming otherwise has not checked — so here is ours, checked.

On 2026-08-04 we ran 25 questions 5 times each on the same engine, on the same day: 125 answers, 0 failures.

Cited domains appearing in all five runs 10.5%
Cited-domain overlap between any two runs 35.4%
Brand/prompt pairs that flip between runs 30.7% (46 of 150)
A single answer agreeing with the five-run majority 91.1%
Average rank movement when a brand is named twice or more 0.97 positions

What that means, plainly: brand visibility is stable enough to trend, and citations are not. So we smooth visibility over a seven-day window and never show you a citation count for a single day. Anyone charting daily citation data is charting noise.

What you get

Today: a report, by hand, within a few days. Your visibility and your competitors', across every question, with the verbatim answers attached so you can check our arithmetic.

In build: the dashboard — the same numbers, daily, with trends, per-question detail and the sources each answer cited. Early-access customers get it as it lands, at the price they signed up at.

Or have it fixed for you

Measurement tells you where you stand. If what you want is to move, we take the work on directly — the content, the sources, the pages the answers actually cite. Same form, pick "done for you".

Questions

How is this different from just asking ChatGPT myself?

Sample size. One answer agrees with the five-run majority 91.1% of the time, which means roughly one check in 11 misleads you. We ask 25 questions every day and show you the trend, not the anecdote.

Why do the numbers move?

Because the engines do. Personalisation, memory, and live retrieval all make the same question answer differently. We publish exactly how much (see above) rather than hiding it behind a smooth line.

Which engines?

ChatGPT and Google's AI mode today. More as they matter — the ones that send traffic, not the ones that make headlines.

Where do the answers come from?

The answer surfaces themselves, collected as a visitor sees them — not a model API asked to recall what it would say. The two disagree, and the difference is the whole reason we do it the harder way.

What does it cost?

Reports are priced per engagement while the dashboard is in build. Ask and we will tell you plainly.

Is my data shared?

No. Your domain and your questions are yours. We never sell, publish or aggregate them into anything public — the leaderboard on this page is our own category, measured on our own account.
